Unemployed
About two and a half weeks ago Chris came home from work without a job. We're still not completely sure why they let him go, but I think it's because they're slowly outsourcing his line of work to their plant in South America (cheaper labor). He had already been looking for another job because he was unhappy where he was at, but it was still a shock. As it turns out his job loss was a blessing in disguise. Earlier this week he was offered a programming job at Austin Community College. The hours will be better, the pay will be better, and the work environment will be better. We're so thankful for this blessing. Our time of unemployment was short, but during those couple of weeks we had a tremendous amount of support from our ward, our friends, and our family. We are so grateful for the love that was shown to our us.
The last month or so has been a roller coaster of emotions. So many ups and downs, but I suppose that's what this life is all about. To enjoy the ups and learn from the downs. I am so grateful for my faith. Sometimes I don't have enough of it, but my faith is what gets me through my trials. With good friends and a fabulous family included, life couldn't get any better. Our family is so blessed.
First Grade Moosical
A few weeks ago the first graders performed for their parents. Kaylee played the part of a cow and decided she wanted to look like a cow from head to toe. She even cut out her own black spots!
Fredricksburg
While my parents were in town, Chris and I got away for a night. We stayed in Fredericksburg at a cute Bed and Breakfast. Chris has been wanting to go to Fredericksburg for awhile to see the National Museum of the Pacific War. He finally got his wish. Going to this museum definitely wasn't my idea, but I was happy to go with Chris. It was set up very nicely, and it was interesting learning more about the war that our grandfathers fought in. We also toured Main Street in Fredericksburg which is full of fun shops and restaurants. We had a great time browsing through stores, and eating good food. And, while we were away our kids got to go to the Waco Zoo with their grandparents!
Professor Kaylee McGonagall
Over Spring break, Professor Kaylee McGonagall introduced her grandparents to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Here is some of the school work that was completed. I love it how Kaylee labeled my dad's hilarious work inaproprit (inappropriate). So funny!
