About two years ago, I began my journey to become a personal trainer. At the time, I had absolutely no interest in teaching group exercise but my hiring manager had other ideas. He told me he wanted me to teach at least one group exercise class on top of the personal training. I told him I wasn't trained to teach group exercise, I had no idea how to teach group exercise, and the thought of teaching group exercise was terrifying. He told me to do it anyway. I told him I wasn't going to like it. He told me I was going to like it. He was right. That summer I completed a certification to teach a barre style class called Barre Above, and it is my favorite. I have met so many wonderful, unique, and interesting people that I now call friends. I am grateful for a manager who pushed me WAY out of my comfort zone and told me to do it anyway. Meet the Baca Barre Babes.
