Landon and Chris went to scout camp during the second week of June. They spent five hot days and four hot nights at Lost Pines Scout Reservation. Landon enjoyed working on and finishing five merit badges, and Chris completed a bunch of training. They brought home clothes so stinky and dirty that they had to be re-soaked and re-washed (some of them up to three times). But, since the washing was a result of their father/son adventures and bonding time, I couldn't complain. They had a blast!

Kaylee's World
At the end of Kaylee's first semester of eighth grade she decided to join the middle school soccer team. She spent her second semester of eighth grade getting into shape and playing soccer. Unfortunately the middle school team wasn't quite as united (some of the girls were downright mean) as the high school team, but she enjoyed playing and is planning to join the high school soccer team this coming school year.
Kaylee also attended her first school dance this year. It was her eighth grade formal. We told her that if someone asked her to the dance we were fine with her meeting him there. A boy named Josh asked her, and they met at the dance with a bunch of their other friends. Kaylee had a great time dancing the night away, feeling like a princess, going to Steak and Shake after the dance, and staying the night at a friend's house (with a bunch of other friends). When I picked her up the next day she was happy but completely wiped out.

Spring Show
This past school year, instead of PE, Landon decided to take a dance class. He thoroughly enjoyed it and plans on continuing to dance. His spring show was called "Don't Touch the Remote". He performed in several dances, but my favorite was Happy Days where he danced the role of Fonzie.

Prom
Ainsley attended two proms this year. Church Prom with Nathan (he orchestrated the fabulous promposal) and Junior Prom with Tanner. She had a blast at both dances.

January and February
In January Ainsley played a lot of soccer and celebrated her 17th birthday. February brought a couple of trips to California (Chris and Landon spent a weekend with the Yarbroughs and I spent a week with my parents), the celebration of Kaylee's 14th birthday, and the cutest, most elaborate promposal we've ever seen.
