It's official, Chris and I are the parents of a teenager. Weird how that happened. Ainsley celebrated her 13th birthday last Saturday. She kept it pretty low key with a small party. A few of her close friends were invited for pizza, games, treats and a movie (Howl's Moving Castle).
The morning of her birthday she opened presents from family. She had one big gift, which was tickets to see the musical "Wicked". She's acting surprised in the picture, but she totally knew what she was getting. Apparently I blew the surprise without even realizing it. She's so much like Chris. Any little hint, and she figures it out.
She wanted to make a cupcake tower for her party. We were calling it the poor man's cupcake tower because we don't actually have a tower, but this is how she actually wanted to arrange the cupcakes. Those little marshmallow guys are called Adipose. They're from Dr. Who.
It's hard to believe that I'm old enough to have a teenage daughter! Chris is in denial and wished her a happy 12th birthday. Ainsley is such a beautiful young lady inside and out. We're blessed to have her in our family. Happy birthday Ainsley!
