Rock Around the Clock!

At the end of April Ainsley sang in her last choir concert of the year. They dressed like they were from the 50's (almost all of the girls wore poodle skirts) and sang 50's tunes. It was a lot of fun to watch!

Bluebell Ice Cream Factory

Before Chris started his new job we decided to take a day trip to the Bluebell Ice Cream Factory. There's a show on PBS called "Austin Day Tripper" that we like to watch. One of the episodes includes a trip to the ice cream factory and a 50's diner at the Brenham airport. We decided to try both. We were watching Landon's friend Ben that day, so he came along for the ride. The diner food was yummy and it was fun that the staff was decked out in 50's attire. The ice cream factory tour was pretty short, but we enjoyed seeing where some of our favorite ice creams are made. We each picked a scoop of ice cream at the end of the tour. The first scoop was free, and each additional scoop was $1.00. We figured we'd sit there all afternoon pigging out on ice cream, but the first scoop was so big that we were all full before we could even think about another flavor. It was fun to get out and play for a day before Chris went back to work!

Arcade Fire

Chris and I went to see one of our favorite bands (Arcade Fire) last night! While we were waiting for them to come on stage we started reminiscing about all the bands we used to go see. Then we realized that was pre-kids, and it's been ten years since our last show! Chris commented that now when someone asks him what his last concert was he won't have to say "Yo Gabba Gabba." Although, I maintain that "Yo Gabba Gabba" is pretty cool. Arcade Fire played a fantastic set, and it was fun getting out with Chris like we used to back in the day.
