December came and went, and I hardly took any photos. It was a good month though. Before school and work let out for everyone, we had the opportunity to go to Main Street Bethlehem and to attend an interfaith choir concert where Kaylee sang. Chris and I also went to his company Christmas party for his new job. I won't recap the whole evening, but let's just say that Chris and I were pretty much the only ones who participated in the ugly sweater contest, and I was pretty much mortified the entire night.
Landon's and Kaylee's last day of school was the 20th, which was also the day Ainsley flew back to Texas (after a fantastic first semester of college). It was great to be five again. Grandma Yarbrough came between Christmas and New Years. During our two weeks together we celebrated Christmas, played lots of games, went on a Christmas lights drive, saw Frozen II, had a nice visit with Grandma, ate out a few times, and fully enjoyed the break. Kaylee also played in a few soccer games and scored two goals!
Ainsley flew back to Utah on the 3rd, and that's when everything fell apart for the poor kids. Landon started feeling sick that day and Ainsley and Kaylee got sick the next. All three had the flu. Ainsley was in urgent care the night her classes began. Kaylee was at the doctor the next day and Landon the day after that because he had been getting better but then got sick again. When they tested him for flu the test came back positive for flu A and flu B. The nurse practitioner ran the test twice because she thought it was faulty. I can't believe Chris and I didn't get sick and am still hoping we don't. The kids are on the mend and getting back to their usual activities but it was a rough week for the three of them. I think by next week everyone will be back to their routines again.
I have a feeling that 2020 is going to bring a few changes and growth to our family. I am excited to begin a new year and hope it will be a good one.
