Preschool Graduation

Landon graduated from preschool this week. I told him once he graduated he'd officially be a Kindergartner, so he had to start buckling his own seat belt in the car - something he has been totally averse to learning. Now, when I forget (it's habit) that he's supposed to buckle his own belt, he reminds me with an "Uh, Mom", a point of the finger to the seat belt, and a look which can only be interpreted as, "Duh". Gotta love that boy!

For graduation, the preschoolers performed an end of year musical. After singing, their teachers handed out certificates and said something about each student. Landon's teacher said he had a good vocabulary and was the most informative in their class. That's my boy, the big talker! He keeps telling me that he's happy he and his good friend Shane won't be going to the same school next year. He says it's because he thinks they'd just talk to each other all day if they were together.

The little girl in the photo with Landon and Shane is Ella. After I took the picture Ella's mom told me she had a funny story to share. She said that earlier in the year Ella really liked a boy in their class. She asked him to be her boyfriend, and he said yes. After that he kept going back and forth on whether or not he felt like being her boyfriend. Ella's mom said she kept coming home sad about this little boy, so she told her to go pick out a smart boy in the class and ask him if he wanted to be her boyfriend. Apparently she chose Landon. She went to school the next day, asked him to be her boyfriend, and his response was, "Ella that would not be a smart thing." When I asked Landon about it later he told me he had also explained to Ella that she shouldn't have a boyfriend until she's 16. I asked him how Ella responded to that, and he said she told him it was alright if they were just friends. So cute!

Now it's two more weeks for the girls (two too many in my opinion), and then school's out for the summer. It's crazy to think that all three of my kiddos will be attending full day school in the fall. And, horror of horrors, Ainsley will be in middle school! Yikes!

Planting Trees

Last Saturday we helped plant trees at a local park.  Our friend's son joined us, and one of our neighbors showed up.  We all planted trees together.

Half Price Books had some employees representing them.  Landon decided he needed a picture with their Book Worm.

Ainsley took off with a friend she hadn't seen in quite awhile.  We eventually caught up to her.

It was a great way to start the weekend!
