Chris baptized Kaylee on March 3rd. She was baptized with her friends Penny and Carson, and we had a barbecue with their families that afternoon. We enjoyed the day with family and friends. It was a happy occasion!

A Little Bit of Randomness
A couple weekends ago, we drove into Austin to explore a wild weather event that the Bob Bullock Museum was hosting. We thought it would be great for Kaylee because she was studying tornadoes for her Science Fair project. While we were at the museum, we saw a showing of "Wild Texas Weather". Landon was freaking out because the girls kept telling him there would probably be special effects. I kept assuring him there would be no special effects. Man was I wrong. Right when the movie started there was a huge boom of thunder and lighting in the theater. Then we got rained (well misted) on. I guess mommy doesn't always know best! Our traditional lunch on the Capitol lawn was next. I think I've said this before, but our kids love running around on the lawns at the Capitol.
After our day in Austin we headed to the airport to pick up Chris's dad who was flying out for the annual hockey game they attend together. When it wasn't hockey time, he and Landon enjoyed reading on the couch together.
Kaylee's second grade class celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday week. Each day was a different theme. That Friday they got to dress up as a Dr. Seuss character (Kaylee was Cindy Lou Who) and went to see The Lorax on a field trip. My mom and dad were in town for Kaylee's baptism, so we (Mom, Dad, Landon and I) tagged along too. It was a cute movie. I am partial to The Lorax though. It's my favorite Dr. Seuss book.
And lastly, that trip to the Bob Bullock Museum must have paid off because Kaylee won first place on her Science Fair project! It was a tornado exhibit.
Happy Birthday Kaylee!
On February 24th, Kaylee celebrated her 8th birthday. She wanted Thanksgiving dinner again this year, so she invited over a couple of friends and we ate turkey. She was super excited to receive a sewing box and sewing machine. And, she was equally excited to be given the Lego Black Pearl. Kaylee requested a homemade cherry pie for dessert. I was pretty sure it was the first cherry pie she'd ever had, so I was wondering if she'd even like it. She ended up being the only kid who did like it. Not surprising, hahaha.
Happy birthday Kaylee! We love having your unique little personality in our family. You brighten our days!
