No Naps

Much to my dismay, Landon has decided he's through with napping. He's roughly the age that the girls both were when they said "NO!" to nap time, so I'm not surprised. The problem is that I really think he still needs a nap. If he doesn't sleep during the day, he looks like he's going to pass out come dinner time. Plus he becomes extremely grouchy. He's tired!

So, I've pulled out the mean mom card and started locking him in his room around 1:00 most afternoons. He does get one chance not to come out but usually if I don't put a child lock on the inside of his door he either shows up in the living room five seconds later or he stands at the door opening and closing it over and over. Once the lock is in place, he gets mad for a few minutes, then he plays with his toys for a bit, and finally I find him like this. His latest trick is to fall asleep next to his bedroom door, so when it's time to pick up Ainsley from school I have to lay down on the floor outside of his room and call under the door to wake him.

Oh no...I can't believe he is phasing out of naps already! :( That's so hard, especially since it sounds like he still needs it!! I love the pic of him sleeping on the floor..so cute!

A fighter until the end. He knows what he wants... he just doesn't know what is best for him! Good job pulling out the mean mom card. As you know sometimes that is the only thing that will work, so use it well. He does look very peaceful having a nap there on the floor:)This is just good practice for when he is in scouts and sleeping on the ground in a tent. A scout is always prepared:) Love ya, Aunt Deb xoxoxoxoxoxox

I hate nap transitions! Sam decided no naps over a year ago, but then went back to them a while later thankfully, then stopped for good a few months ago. I used to be able to get him to fall asleep "accidentally" if I timed a quiet movie just right, but those are becoming fewer and farther between. It must be really hard having the last one give up naps!

I Love it! You are not a mean mom. I have been using that method forever. Both girls stopped napping at 2 and Logan is hopefully going to me my napper right? sure, whatever. At least he goes down right? Too funny.
