Unaccompanied Minors

On Tuesday I put Ainsley and Kaylee on a nearly four hour flight to California as Unaccompanied Minors. I felt a little sad seeing them off, but I was more excited for them than anything. What an adventure my nine and six year old were about to have! There is no way I could have even thought about sending them alone a few years ago, but as they've gotten older it's been so much fun to see them try new things.

When the girls were called to board they both clung to me a little and were a bit teary eyed, but the flight attendant whisked them away so quickly there really wasn't time for sadness. It was perfect.

As their plane left the terminal Landon exclaimed, "I miss my friends!"  But, that didn't last very long. He's definitely enjoying being an only child for a week.

Wow! I didn't even thinking about that when you guys were over and mentioned that the girls were heading to CA a week before you!

How neat! And nice that they could go together. I sat next to an unaccompanied minor on our trip home from minneapolis, and she seemed so nervous, she wouldn't even talk to the flight attendant!

They look so excited! My mom is trying to convince me that Rianne and Keira should be able to fly alone to Utah! I don't think I could handle it quite yet. Baby steps right?:)
