Tonight after the festivities were over I tucked our beautiful 10 year old into her new sleeping bag and said goodnight. Ainsley is such a joy. Our family has been incredibly blessed by her sweet spirit. Happy birthday Ainsley! You're the bestest 10 year old I know!

She's Our American Girl
This year Ainsley wanted more than anything to visit the American Girl store in Dallas for her birthday. So, last Saturday Ainsley, her friend Paris, Kaylee, and I embarked on a girls trip to Dallas. We spent the long drive listening to American Girl books on CD and chowing down on junk food. We brought some of Ainsley's old AG magazines, and I put together a packet of AG activities for each of the girls. When we arrived at the store they were in heaven. After browsing for a bit we stopped to make Hawaiian Leis for their dolls. We also had reservations to eat lunch at the Bistro. Each doll was seated and given a cup and plate to use during their dining experience. All three girls ordered the "picnic lunch" which included a mini hamburger and mini hot dog with curly fries and a fruit kabob. Once everyone was full Ainsley and Paris brought their dolls to the doll salon for their hair appointments. When the dolls were finished being beautified the girls browsed some more and picked out their final purchases. They all had money with them that they'd earned or in Ainsley's case had been given by her grandparents to do some birthday shopping. On our drive home, we listened to more American Girl books on CD and ate more junk food. When we arrived at the house, the girls put on Ainsley's Kit Kittredge movie before they sat down for some cake and ice cream. What a fun day!
Today Ainsley entered the realm of double digits. She is officially 10 years old! After school her friend Lizzie came over. They spent the afternoon being girlie. Once Chris got home from work we did the usual - birthday dinner, presents, and this year a cookie cake.

Ten wonderful years with adored Ainsley, where did the time go? I love the pictures of the girls and their dolls--looks like a day with plenty of pampering! Christa you're the birthday Guru of fun....driving three and a half hours to an American Girl store, that's dedication.
