Kaylee's 7th Birthday or Thanksgiving Dinner

Yesterday was Kaylee's 7th birthday. She's been counting down the days for a few months now. Her big day was full of food and friends. And I really do mean food. For breakfast we had overnight cinnamon rolls. I brought her Subway for lunch and chocolate cupcakes for her class. A Thanksgiving meal was prepared for dinner (yep she wanted a turkey dinner), and a strawberry cake with Neapolitan ice cream was served for dessert. It was a yummy birthday!

Kaylee didn't have a party this year, but she did invite one of her friends to come over to our house after school. Kadence stayed with us all afternoon and evening playing and celebrating.

Kaylee's primary teacher from last year came over with her son for dinner, presents, and dessert. My kids adore her She's such a nice person, and it's fun to have her and her son over for dinner occasionally.

When it was time for presents Kaylee pretty much guessed everything she was given before any of it was unwrapped. It was pretty funny. She's just like her dad. It's almost impossible to surprise Chris. As far as I know my dad is the only one who's ever truly surprised him. Kaylee was so excited to recieve an American Girl doll (Felicity). Kadence loved her too. She went home asking her mom for an American Girl doll.

When it was time for Kaylee to blow out her candles she decided to let Kadence help her. We were out of town on Kadence's birthday, so she wanted her friend to be able to blow out candles while they were together. So cute.

After our friends left Kaylee was looking pretty wiped out. She was sniffling a little, so I asked her what was wrong. Her response was, "I'm sad because my birthday is over, and now I have to wait a whole year until my next one." But, after a nice soak in the tub her spirits were lifted and she went to bed a happy 7 year old. Happy Birthday Kaylee! Our family wouldn't be the same without you!

I loved reading this blog and viewing the pictures. I'm not sure why but I was a little teary. Maybe the quick passage of time, already seven--the months and years are running by. I'm glad you're enjoying most minutes of each child's life. It will all be a wonderfully human memory before you know what happened!
