Christmas Shenanigans

As is our tradition, we dug out our Christmas decorations the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We decorated. We admired. And, we goofed around.

I was going to send out a Christmas card with a photo of the kids in their Santa hats but apparently if you wait until three days before Christmas to order your cards it's too late. I tried. I was going to send them even though they probably wouldn't have gotten to anyone until after Christmas but it just didn't happen.

I was going to make goodies for our neighbors too. I tried. I made some of my Aunt Debbie's famous caramels. They are so good, and always turn out perfect. Not this year. After letting cool, I pulled out a knife to slice through the delicious caramel. Much to my surprise the caramel wasn't set (not even slightly), and it was really grainy. I suppose that wasn't meant to be either. I'm starting to feel like Little Critter in "Just for You". Oh well, there's always next year!

Send a copy of the Christmas card that didn't make it to print my way, it's adorable. I remember years with cards unsent and runny candy. Those Christmas touches are appreciated but not essential. It looks like the essentials happened in your wonderful home!

We do our cards last minute every year! This year my main resolution is to get a nice outdoors family picture (since we haven't had one in years) that we can use and get some cards printed up before our anniversary (dec 18)!
