In January, Ainsley turned 11! Grandma Gadd arrived the day before her birthday as a surprise. We were all happy to have her here. This year, Ainsley decided to have a party. She wanted to make her own cupcakes and found an idea in an American Girl magazine she wanted to try. It involved dyeing white cake batter. The cupcakes ended up having a tie-dyed look to them. They turned out cute and yummy! Her party theme was a spa/pajama movie night. I thought it would be fun to make homemade face masks, but she was kind of repulsed by the idea. The girls ended up making lemon scented bath salts and getting manicures. I was so happy to have my mom there to help with the manicures! We ate pizza and cupcakes, and Ainsley decided to spread her candles out amongst her friends. Everyone got to make a wish! The girls played games (one was a getting to know you game since there were school friends and church friends who didn't know each other), and towards the end of the party we started a movie. Most of the girls ended up wandering off to play more games within the first five minutes of the movie, haha. The party was a success, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Happy birthday Ainsley! I can't believe you'll be leaving Primary for the Young Women next year!
