Kaylee is 16. This is the Way.

Kaylee celebrated her 16th birthday with her friend Simran the weekend before she turned 16. They went shopping, out to lunch, and concluded the day with a trip to the nail salon. Her actual birthday was on a Monday, and she woke up to a cute birthday sign in our front yard from her church class.

February is a super busy month for us with soccer and other school activities and Mondays are no exception. We took Kaylee out to dinner the evening of her birthday but by the time we made it to Salt Lick they were out of turkey. We decided to postpone Salt Lick and headed to Rosa's instead. It wasn't the same but she made the best of it. She opened presents, ate her baby Yoda cake, and loved receiving the time capsule I put together for her on her 1st birthday.

The following weekend we headed back to Salt Lick, and Kaylee finally got her turkey and some berry cobbler to boot. Happy 16th birthday Kaylee! You are an adorable girl. You always keep going even when life is tough. You are so much fun to be around, and you have just the right amount of sass. Love you forever.
