Ainsley's Crush

Ainsley and Kaylee love Star Wars. While we were in California they often played Lego Star Wars on the Wii and you could always hear them playing some version of a Star Wars game while they were taking baths together in the evenings. Since we've been home they've been playing Star Wars with their Barbies and their friends.

Yesterday the girls decided to watch one of the Star Wars movies. Ainsley had already seen them all but Kaylee hadn't watched any of them. I decided "Episode I" was one of the tamest of the six movies and let them watch it. I kept hearing, "Hey! I remember this part from Lego Star Wars!" Kaylee also kept mentioning how weird it was. I couldn't tell if it was a good weird or a bad weird so I kept telling her she didn't have to watch it if she didn't like it. I guess it was a good weird because she insisted that she wanted to keep watching it.

Later, Ainsley commented to me that she thought Anakin Skywalker was cute. At first it sounded more like a motherly, "oh he's so cute!" but then I realized it was a crush. So there you have it, my daughter has a crush on Darth Vader. He is pretty cute though, don't you think?

On a side note, this wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention that I had a crush on Anakin's son back in the day. Yep, Luke Skywalker! I guess us Yarbrough girls have a thing for those Skywalker boys!

I had no idea you had a crush on the Goblin King Christa. Now I know why we ended up watching Labyrinth so many times. Beware you may be watching this Star Wars episode more than you can possibly imagine if Ainsley has anything to say about it!
