A Doctor and a Teacher

This week the girls' school is having "Education Go Get it Week." It's a week dedicated to getting the students excited about learning and going to college. Every day has a different theme, and today's was "dress for success." Each student had the option to come to school dressed for their future career. Kaylee has recently decided she wants to be a pediatrician, and Ainsley wants to be a teacher.

Kaylee's inspiration is her own doctor. When she was choosing her outfit and deciding which doctor accessories to bring, she based her decisions on "whether or not Dr. Harvey would look like that". She definitely looks like a young Dr. Harvey. We had a funny conversation at the breakfast table this morning. She asked, "Mom, you have to go to college for a long time to be a doctor don't you?" I told her that she would have to go for a long time but that she'd learn a lot of really neat things. Her reply was, "yeah, and aren't there lots of parties at college?" Hmm, I wonder if I should start worrying about the parties now?

Ainsley has wanted to be a teacher since first grade. Last year while I was at a parent teacher conference her teacher told me that she knew Ainsley was going to grow up to be a teacher. I'd say she definitely has the look already. Keep aiming high girls!

Ainsley looks smart. The glasses, bag, and apple cracked me up. Kaylee looks like a professional, ready to save some lives ! I wouldn't worry about the parties, I'm sure she's thinking musical chairs and breaking the pinata!
