Kaylee had a Looth Tooth

Kaylee has been yearning to lose a tooth for about a year now. She's watched Ainsley lose tooth after tooth and has wondered when her turn would come. At her last dentist visit she was excited to learn that she had not one but two loose teeth -- the wiggling began. Over the last couple of days she's been begging me to pull one of them. I don't mind pulling teeth, but it just wasn't ready. That is until today. We were sitting at the allergist's office waiting for-ev-er to get Kaylee's allergy shots. We were bored. We were restless. Suddenly I saw what she was doing with that lose tooth. It was ready to be pulled. I asked her if she wanted me to grab a tissue and give it a yank. She did. I did. Voila! It was out, and there was blood everywhere! Apparently it was still hanging on by a little more than a thread. Kaylee didn't care. She happily bit down on a tissue and later rinsed her mouth. Her first tooth was out!

Tonight she asked me if the Tooth Fairy is real. Who else would give you money for a tooth? I asked. You and Daddy, she responded. I asked her if she wanted to believe that the Tooth Fairy is real. She's such a logical thinker and yet such a dreamer. She wants to believe the Tooth Fairy is real, so we're going to leave it at that. For now.

I'm probably the only person reading this who hasn't read all four Twilight books at lease twice. I doubt you have to worry about getting graphic ;)

It was cute coming home last night and seeing how excited she was to throw off her new gap.

One more sign of growing up...sigh! She looks so cute with her little gap and her satisfied smile. You'll be in California with Grandma in just six weeks Kaylee. Save the other tooth till you get here because the cost of living is higher so the tooth fairy pays more per tooth!

I thought the tooth fairy gives IOUs in California.

You are so brave! For some reason, it really creeps me out to pull on a tooth. Ben has gone a long time without loosing any now. Weird.
