Before I continue on about summer vacation I thought I'd better take a moment to mention that the kids are back in school. Landon began 4th grade, Kaylee 6th and Ainsley is a freshman in high school. Ainsley also, started dun dun duuuun . . . early morning seminary. I took first day of school pictures even though we were running late, (yep, we were already running late on the first day of school) and I was planning on including said pictures just below this paragraph, but I can't find them. They aren't on the camera, they aren't on the other camera, they aren't in my pictures folder. I have no idea what happened to them. The kids suggested we have a do over, but I'll probably just wait until I take family pictures in November. Oh well.
Another beachy trip we took while visiting California was to Point Bonita Lighthouse and Rodeo Beach. The lighthouse was first, and so were some portraits. I realized it's been a couple years since I last updated the kids' portraits and the scenery was so pretty. Ainsley was all for it, Kaylee was OK with it, and Landon not so much. The photos turned out alright, but I've decided I need to brush up on my photography skills and maybe invest in a better camera.
On our way to Rodeo beach we stopped at The Marine Mammal Center. It's a center for rehabilitating sick or injured ocean dwelling critters. Landon, who is intent on becoming a Marine Biologist, was in heaven.
Rodeo Beach is a beachcombing type of beach. All along the shoreline there are lots of small rocks, pieces of sea glass, and little sea shells. While we were there, Uncle John went rock climbing with Landon and Kaylee. And, right before we left we found a cute little crab. The kids named him bubbles because he (or maybe she) was blowing little spit bubbles.
On the way home we stopped by Hick'ry Pit for dinner then headed back to G-ma's and G-pa's house. Fun day!
