Kaylee and Gus

The mascot at the girls' new school is a Gator. In Kaylee's class they have Gus the Gator. Gus is a toy alligator that travels home with students during the week. The student who is taking care of Gus is supposed to bring him wherever they go, take pictures, and then post about their adventures on a Google Document that is shared with the class.

Kaylee was thrilled when she was chosen as the first student to bring Gus home.  She quickly grew attached to Gus and was none too happy (in typical Kaylee fashion) when she had to return him at the end of her week.

During the week Gus lived at our house he received royal treatment. He was dressed in pajamas and a robe, he took a trip to Round Rock Donuts, and he got to rock out with the Biscuit Brothers. Kaylee taught Gus how to use a knife, how to jump rope, and they played dress up. At the end of the week she was sad to say good-bye but I'm betting she'll get another chance to bring Gus home before the school year ends.

How fun! Cailin is impatiently waiting her turn to bring home Bennett the Buffalo. She has a melt down every week when it's not her turn!
